Sex and Gender in Biomedical Research
Dr. Lauren Drogos will discuss the importance of including sex and gender in biomedical research, with an emphasis on how these considerations apply to research in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Lauren Drogos is an Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Calgary in the Department of Psychology, and the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta. She received a B.S in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Illinois Chicago. Her research across the past decade has focused on the effects of steroid hormones on cognition and mood, with a focus on women’s mental health.
